Lake Air Continues to Expand with the Acquisition of Performance Welding

We are incredibly excited to announce our recent acquisition of Performance Welding, LLC in Appleton, Wisconsin. Performance is known in the industry for its high-performance production, rapid company growth, strong customer relationships, and amazing team culture.

Their business model is a perfect match for the strategic direction Lake Air is pursuing and a great next step in our national expansion.

 

A brief history of Performance Welding

Founded as Performance Welding in 1995, they have since grown from a small weld shop in Little Chute, Wisconsin to a full-service contract manufacturer operating out of multiple facilities.

In 2014, the company rebranded itself to Performance Complete Metal Solutions to reflect its added capabilities and commitment to high-quality finished goods. Servicing OEMs across the Midwest, they are a vertically integrated supplier, adding value to their clients’ supply chains for over 25 years.

 

 

What capabilities will Performance Welding bring to the Lake Air team?

Performance Welding will bring the following core competencies to the table, further expanding Lake Air’s operational capacities, expertise, and customer base.

  • Sheet metal fabrication: Performance specializes in laser cutting, metal forming, machining, punching, drilling, tapping, and many other metal fabrication services.
  • Welding: Performance is MIG & TIG certified and offers GMAW-MIG, GMAW-P (pulse), GTAW-TIG, GTAW-P (pulse), and SMAW-Stick welding. They also bring additional robotic welders to the Lake Air lineup.
  • Powder coating: The Performance team is certified to over 1,000 hours of salt spray and is equipped with a highly flexible, state-of-the-art wash system that can accommodate both small and large parts.
  • Assembly: We are excited for Performance to further increase our full assembly capacity, delivering point-to-point wire routing, hydraulic plumbing, functional testing, and final packaging for our customers.
